2-Row is a light-colored base malt made from a blend of North American 2-Row barley varieties. It is darker than most lager malts, but lighter than most pale ale malts. It has moderate protein levels, and good extract yield. Its neutral characteristics make it extremely versatile, and it is widely used by North American craft breweries as their standard base malt for any beer style.

Great Base Malt
Ordered single milled, and grain crush looked great. Added a bit of rice hulls to my mash, and the efficiency with my Spike Solo system was nearly 75%. I'll be back for more.

be warned
I ordered 3 10lb specials. for VERY obvious reasons. I use 10lb per an often made recipe just as I am sure most reading this easily understand. I can easily refrigerate 10lb bags for later use. what I received was 30lb in the bottom of an original 50lb sack. now storage is a problem and my brew day requires more effort. GEES come on guys

Great deal and quality
I found no difference from this grain and what I can get at my LHBS, oh except that it's HALF the price! As another reviewer stated the grains come in a large bag tied off in a knot, not in a heat-sealed bag. I can only assume they are milled to order, I wonder when the other sealed packages I've bought online were milled. There is also a great tool on this site when you check out that allows you to estimate your shipping. I did this and continued to add items, like another 10 pounds of this malt and the shipping only went up a small amount. I was able to offset the cost of shipping vs. buying locally.

Awesome Base Malt!
I originally chose this malt because of the savings when buying in bulk. After using it i feel like its one of the better quality 2-Row malts I've used. Great product and a great price.
