caramel/crystal flavors. This malt is a fantastic addition to amber and dark beers.

Great quality, awesome service. To the guy who gave a 3 star rating, guess what, when you buy a base malt it's going to come in a big bag labeled in a sharpie; that's the way it's done.
I use Munich in most of my SMaSH beers. I started making SMaSH to learn about specific hop flavors. Then I tried Munich in one because I wanted some strong malt backbone. It always turns out a deep amber color and is just fantastic tasting by itself. My favorite hop to pair it with so far is Columbus. Chinook is also very good with it. I highly recommend this malt to anyone looking for a strong malt backbone, especially in a SMaSH.
I had no problem with the product itself. The packaging though was awful. I received a pound of milled grain just thrown into a plastic garbage bag. The other grains I bought came neatly packaged in a zip top bag. I don't know what happened here but this was a mess.
I used this malt along with the CMC's Vienna malt to make an Oktoberfest this year. Adding sweetness and melanoidins to balance the bitterness imparted by the hops without being too cloyingly sweet. This would also work well in Bocks, Stouts, IPA's, and Pale Ales
