Superb bittering and Outstanding flavor
This hop tends to get a bad rap for strong onion and garlic characteristics, but rest assured this does not have to be the case. I recently blended this hop with Amarillo and Simcoe for a big brown ale. It came out with a very dank/resinous sticky-toffee character. Even more recently, I used this hop for a SMaSH Pils -- 1.046 all-pils malt and hopped up to 40 IBU with some flavoring and aroma addititons, fermented with SafLager 34/70. This brew came out with a clean, firm bitterness and mild citrus notes; quite refreshing! The stupendously high AA means a little goes a very long way for bittering, making for inexpensive brews. Don't hesitate to give this hop a shot -- you will be pleasantly surprised!
