This malt is a suitable base for all beer styles.
2-Row is a light-colored base malt made from a blend of North American 2-Row barley varieties. It is darker than most lager malts, but lighter than most pale ale malts. It has moderate protein levels, and good extract yield. Its neutral characteristics make it extremely versatile, and it is widely used by North American craft breweries as their standard base malt for any beer style.

Rahr 2-Row
It took me the longest time to decide WHAT the diff is between Pils, Pale, and 2-Row. Best I can deduct is that Pils is the least processed very high modification ability. To me it's grassy and hay. Pale is a little bit more kilned and is only SLIGHTLY darker but IMO is sweeter and more bread. 2-Row has the least modification power, but will give a big mouthfeel. The Rahr has an unmistakeable flavor and aroma and adds a lot to bigger beers. I have sampled 2-Row from other maltsters but this, right out of the bag, had knockout aroma!
